SKC Family Housing consists of one, two, three and four bedroom units. These units are within walking distance of all classes on campus. These units include Internet access, water, sewer, garbage and laundry facility.

The four bedroom PODs have four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room (with cable TV), and a kitchen. Three bedrooms are available as well. Most all students will share a bathroom with one other person. All dorm rooms do come with internet. A very limited number of dorm rooms with a private bath are also available.

Salish Kootenai College has a student-housing department. It is located in the Bookstore Building on the east side of campus. SKC has a limited number of housing units available, a total of 55 family housing units and a 42-bed dormitory. Salish Kootenai College Student Housing units and dormitory is located on the east side of campus. The one, two, three and four bedroom units and dormitory are within walking distance of all classes on campus. Student housing is very popular with the students because it is on campus and affordable.


To be considered for SKC Student Housing you must complete an application and get it turned back in along with all items requested. Submit your application as early as possible prior to needing housing. Applications will be ranked on a point system with completed application points given for applications received by May 5.

Housing applications will be ranked May 15 according to a point system. When a Unit becomes available the Housing Department will contact the applicant with the highest points for the size of unit. (Keeping in mind the first priority is filling to maximum occupancy.) The applicant will have 24 hours to present receipt for deposit or make arrangements for the deposit in order to claim and hold unit. Dorm deposits are non-refundable. Off Campus Housing List and Resource Guild: An off campus housing list and resource guide is available on our website, on the bulletin board outside the housing offices or by calling the SKC Student Housing Department (406) 275-4827.

It is your responsibility to keep your address and any other changes updated with the SKC Student Housing Department.  Failure to do so may result in delays of your housing.

It is important that housing arrangements be secured prior to the student’s arrival on campus. SKC does not have last minute or emergency housing available.
